Lucie Hemmen to Speak at Parent Education Event for Santa Cruz High School

Wednesday February 13, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Firefly Coffeehouse, 131 Front St., across from the Warriors Arena.

Join Clinical Psychologist and author Lucie Hemmen, PhD., for inspiring advice on how to translate your teen’s moodiness, reduce family stress, and re-establish loving and positive communication. Hemmen, a Santa Cruz therapist specializing in teen and family issues, discusses questions many parents struggle with:

  • Is my teen depressed, or is this normal moodiness?
  • Why is my teen so disrespectful, and how do I handle it?
  • Is it OK to read my teenager’s journal, check their telephone history or monitor social media use?
  • How do I distinguish between normal teen experimentation and dangerous behavior?
  • Is my teen working hard, or dangerously stressed out?

Talking To Teens is sponsored by the Santa Cruz High School Parent-Teacher Association. The event is free and open to the public.
